Little Bluestem Schizachyrium scoparium

Very attractive native, warm-season grass found in moist to dry habitats.  Grows 2-4’ tall with equal spread.

The leaves and stems have a bluish cast in the summer. Fall color is a warm copper color.  Should be cut back in early spring.

Host to several butterflies and moths and makes good cover for wildlife.
