Spotted Beebalm Monarda punctata

When you think beebalm, you don’t think of this plant.  But it is a unique, Dr Seuss version of a beebalm. 

Tiers of flowers  form along the flowering stem, subtended by a whorl pink bracts. Tubular flowers are whitish with small purple dots on them,

Prefers dry soils but tolerates medium moisture. Grows to 2’ tall, prefers full sun to part-shade.  Not aggressive.  

My experience is that large bees and wasps love this plant.
