Swamp Hibiscus Hibiscus moscheutos

This plant is an herbaceous perennial, growing tall stiff stalks that bear lots of big flowers. Up to 7’ tall (when it’s happy), plant this in full sun with moist soils (although personal experience says it can be planted in dry) and step back and watch it shine.

Large, mallow-like flowers open July to September. New flowers open white but as they age, flowers turn pink. Individual flowers last a day or 2 but this plant produces lots of them.
