Common Witch Hazel Hamamelis virginiana

This shrub grows 15-20’ tall and wide. Plant in full sun to part sun in average, medium moisture soils.  Suckers allows it to spread, but can be controlled in a maintained area by removing the suckers.

Blooms arrive in late-October into November.  Yellow petals look like spider legs along the branches.  Flowers are fragrant. Often, the previous year’s seed capsules will still be on the branch when flowering.
